Colletta di Castelbianco

The territory

Liguria inland between sea and mountains: trails, climbing, historic villages and the Riviera within easy reach.

Colletta di Castelbianco is a magical place — ancient stone houses dominating the hills, alleys, little squares, arcades, gardens and terraces. Located in the Ligurian hinterland, between the mountains and the sea. The peaceful Val Pennavaire is the ideal place for walks along solitary mountain paths, climbing or sampling the region's typical dishes in local restaurants.

This wonderful environment is just a few kilometres from the beaches, the nightlife of the Riviera and the many other attractions scattered along the coast and the Maritime Alps.

The village regularly hosts cultural events such as art exhibitions and concerts, as well as food and wine events celebrating the best of Italian gastronomy. Every November the village organises an Olive Festival during which the community harvests olives from the many trees surrounding the village and presses them locally to produce their own bottles of olive oil.

The area surrounding Colletta offers excellent opportunities for walking and hiking in unspoilt countryside. In particular, the ancient paths and mule tracks between the villages offer a glimpse of the past (and present). During your walks you will encounter much local flora: thyme, rosemary, mushrooms, chestnuts, cherries and figs as well as berries, grapes and more. It is a paradise for mountain bike enthusiasts, with tracks for all levels from beginners to expert trail riders.

The surrounding rocks are a popular destination for climbers from around the world and Colletta is the perfect base for this activity!
